16th Annual Heritage Concert Series

Another great summer outdoor concert series kicks off this week, as the King Arts Complex and Radio One Columbus present the 16th Annual Heritage Concert Series. The concerts are held at Mayme Moore Park, 867 Mt. Vernon Avenue in the King Lincoln District, once known as the “Cradle of Jazz.” Concerts are scheduled for every Thursday from July 17th through August 21st, running from 6:00 to 9:00 pm (except for the August 21st performance, which will run from 5:30 to 8:30 pm). This year’s schedule features a variety of talented local musicians performing jazz, classic R&B, blues, Latin, and inspirational styles. July 17th’s opening performance features Columbus contemporary jazz heavyweights Urban Jazz Coalition in what should be a rousing hometown party before they resume touring later this summer. The full schedule follows:

July 17 – Urban Jazz Coalition
July 24 – Tia Stewart & the Groove Syndicate
July 31 – The Legends Band
August 7 – Un Abrazo
August 14 – Mojoflo
August 21 – fo/mo/deep
