2015-16 JAG Inside Track Season Starts Saturday

The recently announced 2015-16 season of the Jazz Arts Group‘s Inside Track series brings four concerts of exciting modern and contemporary jazz to Columbus audiences. In a shift from the usual scheduling, two of these performances will be held at Notes, the brand-new live music destination in the Brewery District. As a whole, this year’s series features a wide variety of performers and styles, including a popular young saxophonist/vocalist (Grace Kelly Band), a renowned drummer who has played with a cadre of greats (Jeff Hamilton Trio), and a 25th anniversary celebration for the Columbus Youth Jazz Orchestra featuring one of the top CYJO alums (CYJO with the Aaron Diehl Trio). The series begins at the Lincoln Theatre on Saturday, September 19th, at 8pm, with an acclaimed tribute to the legendary songwriter John Lennon by Canada’s Michael Occhipinti and Shine On. As always, each performer will also stop by the JAG Jazz Academy for a free Offstage workshop – Occhipinti will lead his installment on Saturday at 2pm. Keep reading for full details from JAG:
