The biggest jazz event of the year is upon us – the 40th annual Columbus Jazz and Rib Festival is this weekend! This year’s event returns to the Scioto Mile and offers 28 live performances on two stages in Bicentennial and Genoa Parks. These three days of award-winning ribs from 21 barbecue teams, a wide range of family activities, and a mix of area talent and world-renowned jazz artists take place on Friday, July 19th (11am – 11pm), Saturday, July 20th (11am – 11pm), and Sunday, July 21st (11am – 8:30pm). This year’s schedule features renowned headliners on both stages including: The Soul Rebels with special guest GZA, Norman Brown, Brian Culbertson, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, and our very own Columbus Jazz Orchestra! The lineup also showcases Columbus’ finest groups (and those with Columbus heritage) like Urban Jazz Coalition, fo/mo/deep, Huntertones, Hot Tonic, Mark Hampton and the Jazz Experience, Laura Camara, Alex Schrock Trio, and Dave Powers among many others. A complete schedule of live performances for the weekend follows.
Information on each of the artists can be found here: https://www.hotribscooljazz.org/2019-line-up/
