Celebrate Valentine’s Day with CityMusic! The Chamber Music Series continues on Sunday, February 13 with Helen Welch and Her Jazz Trio performing Notes From The Silver Screen – A Valentine’s Cabaret. The performance will take place at 2:00 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of The Athletic Club of Columbus, 136 East Broad Street.
A native of Great Britain who now resides in Cleveland, Helen Welch has performed to rave reviews with the Columbus Jazz Orchestra in their “Home for the Holidays” concerts and around the world. Helen and her trio of musicians will take you on a magical musical journey featuring songs from well-loved films such as: Sweet Charity, Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Sound of Music, Singing in the Rain, Alfie, Wizard of Oz, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Disney favorites such as Lady and the Tramp, The Aristocats and 101 Dalmations, hidden treasures from A Star is Born and Two For The Road, Classics from Singing in the Rain and Top Hat and even a song composed by Charlie Chaplin. This concert is presented in partnership the Jazz Arts Group.
The CityMusic Chamber Music Series is a fun and engaging way to enjoy music in a relaxed and intimate space. Arrive early at 12:30 and enjoy lunch prepared by the award winning chefs of The Athletic Club of Columbus. Seating is at tables where the audience can enjoy food and beverages with friends, read a complimentary Sunday newspaper, or just sit back and enjoy a great performance.
