Prolific jazz guitarist and composer Bill Frisell returns to the Wexner Center on Tuesday, December 3rd at 8pm. Click here for ticket information – tickets are moving quickly, so act fast! This performance will feature Frisell’s new Big Sur Quintet, which was formed to record his recent album Big Sur, a series of pieces inspired by the picturesque stretch of California coastline of the same name. The music was composed during a creative residency commissioned by the Monterey Jazz Festival and then brought to life by the quintet, which includes Frisell’s long-time musical collaborators Eyvind Kang (cellist), Hank Roberts (violist), Jenny Scheinman (violinist), and Rudy Royston (drummer). The result is an Americana-tinged program of pastoral jazz that is re-imagined with every performance.
