There’s a new night for jazz, and it starts early every Wednesday (9p.m.-1) at Dick’s Den. This week Christian Howes will be welcoming Bobby Floyd and Reggie Jackson. Christian is a world renowned jazz violinist and composer, having performed and/or recorded with include Greg Osby, Randy Brecker, James Carter, Jack DeJohnette, Akua Dixon’s Quartette Indigo, Billy Hart, D.D. Jackson, David Murray, Steve Turre’s Sextet with Strings, Jane Monheit, Dr. John, Frank Vignola, and Lenny White, to name a few.
Although still maintaining his Brooklyn apartment, Christian has been spending more time in Columbus, Ohio with his family. To celebrate coming home, he started a new performance series every Wednesday at Dick’s Den from 9-1. The new series will allow him to explore new music, collaborations, and create a new tradition in the local “Columbus” music scene. Over the years he’s been joined at Dick’s Den by many amazing artists and there are sure to be many more to come.
