Columbus native and virtuoso jazz violinist, Christian Howes, will be conducting his annual Creative Strings Festival this week throughout Columbus which includes instruction and live performances. This is the 9th year in a row Christian has put the festival on with more than 50 strings players from around the world, a truly unique event of its own. We are certainly blessed to have a world talent such as Christian giving back to the Columbus community.
Participants get the opportunity to study improvisation, composition, and non-classical styles in an experiential learning context and then showcase their talent in over 25 concerts and performances in various venues throughout the week. Violins, cellos, violas, and basses will be heard singing and wailing through bluegrass, jazz, rock, Celtic, Latin, blues, avante-garde and more at markets, theatres, restaurants, cafes, and clubs throughout Columbus.
Confirmed artists so far include: Billy Contreas, Jason Anick, Hamilton Hardin, Cedric Easton, Paul Brown, and Christian Howes. Register for the workshop online.
