Sounds of Classic Jazz Standards with Clintonville Jazz Company

Barcelona welcomes a unique ensemble to their Friday night jazz series this week with the Clintonville Jazz Company. This ensemble consisting of a violin, string bass and guitar, is devoted to classic jazz standards from the great American songbook. Each member of the group currently performs or has performed with renowned Symphony orchestras in Ohio. Join Tom Fetherston, violin, John M. Yount, guitar and Garry Wasserman, string bass, as the Clintonville Jazz Company performs this Friday September 30th from 8pm to 11pm at Barcelona in German Village.

Tom Fetherston is a member of the Dayton Philharmonic, Concertmaster of the Central Ohio Symphony, and performs occasionally with the Columbus Symphony. He enjoys playing a variety of styles and genres, and is proud to have performed with artists ranging from Barry White to The Moody Blues.

Garry Wasserman is on the faculty at Ohio University (Athens) and member of the Columbus (OH) Symphony. In addition, he performs with the Klezmer folk group “Indyklez”, presents guest workshops and master classes at Ohio colleges, and maintains a private teaching studio.

John M. Yount performed with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra as an oboist, and in 1999 performed the Vivaldi Mandolin Concerto as the featured mandolin soloist with the orchestra. John performs regularly in and around Central Ohioas a guitarist, mandolinist & banjoist, and maintains an active private teaching studio. John is a Software Development Specialist with the State of Ohio.
