Local jazz violin master Christian Howes hosts a regular gig at Dick’s Den each Wednesday night with his band here in Columbus. This week however, Christian is out of town in Los Angeles hosting a master class. Local band, Decendre, will fill in for Christian tonight at Dick’s Den.
Descendre was formed in 2008 with the fortuitous gathering together of diverse musical forces. They seek to create and perform original music that represents a modern interpretation of the kind of music you may have heard on film soundtracks from the 1970’s or early 80’s, influenced by greats such as, Weather Report, Third Dimension, Stanley Clarke, Return to Forever, Terje Rypdal, Jean Luc Ponte, John Pattitucci, Dave Weckl, Wayne Krantz, Allen Holdsworth, and Chick Corea.
