The Brewtet Jazz Jam Sessions at Zaftig Brewing Company near Worthington have been a welcome addition to the Columbus jazz scene since its debut in 2018. Powered by house band The Brewtet, led by Korey Black on baritone sax, the jam takes place each Thursday from 7 to 9:30pm. The house band plays a set, then opens up for any instrumentalists/vocalists to get up and jam in a no-pressure and fun setting. Be sure to bring your axe, grab a beer, and play!

This week features up and coming vocalist, Jasmine Spitzer.

Pete’s bands are always about the swingin’ standards and originals with a great mix of 1960s and modern jazz sounds. I’ve never heard Pete sound worse than very good, and his band (featuring Jon Eshelmann, Zach Compston, and special guest Kevin Turner) are as good as it gets, in town or otherwise. This new B3 group is playing bi-weekly at the Blue Velvet Room

Tenor Saxophonist Matt Adams is no stranger to Dick’s Den, and can usually be seen there at least once a week with the Wally Mitchel group every Sunday evening. This time he’ll be leading his own group with Brett Burleson (guitar) Matt Paetsch (bass) And Maxwell Button (drums). Expect some originals and standards in the jazz repertoire and beyond.
