The High Street Stompers will delight you with their brand of dixieland jazz this Sunday at 2pm at the Makoy Center in Hilliard. The Stompers will be joined by the Dave Campbell-Anne Johnson Collaboration, to present compositions and arrangements originally written for the historic Yellow Dog Jazz Band by the late Robin Wetterau. Robin was a first-class arranger in the two-cornet front line jazz style that had been developed principally in the San Francisco area in the late 1940s and ’50s by the bands of Turk Murphy and Bob Scobey, and appropriately named the “West Coast Style of Dixieland”.
Seating available concert style or at banquet tables (arrive early to secure a table!). Dancers are welcome to take advantage of the beautiful wood dance floor at The Makoy Center.
