The Refectory, located at 1092 Bethel Road in northwest Columbus, is presenting a great variety of festive jazz this holiday season as part of its Jazz Dinner Club Series. Long known as a top local fine dining destination, the restaurant’s musical offerings, hosted in its upstairs “Choir Loft,” started with six events in its first year and have expanded over the last several years to an average of six jazz events per month. As I can personally attest from seeing the Bobby Floyd Trio play there recently, this venue offers an exquisite combination of upscale dining and intimate jazz performances. Each Jazz Dinner Club performance entails a “pre fixe” four course meal that starts at 6pm and lasts until about 9pm. Enjoying dinner and a show here would be a great treat for the holidays – several of their upcoming shows have already sold out, so making a prompt reservation (reservations are required and available by phone only at (614) 451-9774) for one of the following would be a great idea. Spaces remain for the Tony Monaco Trio on Saturday, December 26th, Woody Pines on Monday, December 28th, Dwight Lenox on Tuesday, December 29th and a Benny Goodman Tribute featuring Tom Davis’ Ohio Swingtet on Saturday, January 2nd.
