In “Jazz: An Improvisation,” a Homeport Gallery exhibit, three artists view the musical genre from different perspectives. Mike Fields creates “white and black” oil paintings of jazz artists; Stephen Pariser photographs musicians, and James E. Wright produces jazz-inspired abstract images of artists, instruments and more. Their combined 32 works are on display through next Sunday in the gallery, which is adjacent to the Lincoln Theatre at 779 E. Long St.
