The Columbus Jazz Arts Group has an open position of “Executive Director” currently available and is looking to fill the position by November of 2012. An interim executive director currently serves as the top administrative officer.
Founded nearly 40 years ago, the Jazz Arts Group’s (JAG) mission is to advance and celebrate the art of jazz through performance and education. Since its founding, JAG has grown into a nearly $2 million a year, multifaceted organization offering performance and education to Central Ohio audiences. During the 2010-11 season, JAG’s performance and educational programs reached over 180,000 individuals of all ages, interest and abilities: participated in over 400 public performances and/or concerts presented in 100 different venues; and provided performance opportunities to over 300 musicians who played for over 78,000 people in 68 different venues.
To realize the goals and ambitions for the organization, the board of directors recently redefined the role of executive director as a full-time employee, dedicated exclusively to the Jazz Arts Group. The Executive Director is accountable to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director is a dedicated, full-time exempt position with overall strategic and operational responsibility for the Jazz Arts Group.
