As you may have noticed when you tried to visit the site, or read about in our newsletter or on our social media, JazzColumbus.com was down for a few hours this past Friday night. This planned outage was the result of a transfer of the site’s hosting, representing the completion of a process in the works since our last website update. With the help of some gracious, web-savvy friends, I, Andrew Patton, am now Owner-Operator of JazzColumbus.com, assuming ownership from site founder Mark Subel, whose departure from the site was detailed in the first link and whose foresight and dedication in creating the site will always be greatly appreciated! While not a major change in the operation of the site, this milestone does give me occasion to address the current state of the site. With the knowledgeable assistance of Richard Sanford, I currently update our Columbus Jazz Calendar and write a variety of articles, interviews, reviews, and the Jazz Weekly column that publishes every Wednesday night. While I believe the site is currently running smoothly and giving a reasonably well-rounded picture of the Columbus jazz scene, please let me know if you find issues or have suggestions on how to improve our coverage. I’d also like to hear from you if you have concert listings to add to the calendar, if you are a musician or represent a band or club and would like to create a profile page (details here) or update me on your shows and activities, or if you would like to write for or contribute to the site! There is more info to come on website updates and ways you can be involved, but for now, thanks for your support and thanks for reading!
