This Week at Brothers Drake – Wednesday, November 27th

Alex Burgoyne: “This week at Brothers Drake, drummer/composer Ryan Folger. Ryan’s playing is as groovy and energetic as it is thoughtful and understated. I got to know his playing best doing a Paul Motian tribute. He captures a lot of what I love about Paul’s playing but also has a secret and ferocious high gear. Ryan: ‘The band is Alex Burgoyne, Tom Davis, Derek Dicenzo, and myself. We are playing standards by composers ranging from Duke Ellington to John Scofield, as well as compositions by myself and other members of the band.’

I’m excited to play with this great group of musicians and to play Ryan’s great book of tunes. Can’t wait to see you!

Jazz Wednesday at Brothers Drake. 8:00-11:00PM. Free as always. You mead it.”

Have a great week!
