Jump for Jazz Program for Kids

jump for jazzThe McConnell Arts Center of Worthington is hosting an educational music program for young children called “Jump for Jazz” this Saturday, June 21st and again on Saturday, August 16th. Live music is performed along with early childhood materials that adapt well to the jazz genre. Becky Ogden, an experienced early childhood music educator and host of the PBJ & Jazz series, has developed activities and songs using the jazz vocabulary that enhance literacy, music, and movement for young children.

The audience adds “jazz” to their vocabulary while listening, singing, jumping, reading patterns and even playing instruments. The program is all about the music. The kids, through their participation, are fully engaged listeners.
