Local Hammond B3 organist, Linda Dachtyl and her band LDB3, will be performing live this Saturday night at Dick’s Den. Linda is part of a long tradition of B3 players from Columbus Ohio including legends like: Bobby Floyd, Tony Monaco, and Hank Marr. Linda performs with a number of different musicians in town but the usual lineup is:
Gene Walker or Mark Donavan-Tenor Sax
Giles Ponticello or Larry Smith-Guitar/Vocals
Cary Dachtyl-Drums
Show time is just after 10pm on Saturday night, November 13th.
In addition to her B3 quartet, she is also the leader of the “QED” jazz piano trio that works frequently in the central Ohio area. Linda is a performer, composer, and music instructor at Kenyon College. Her playing experience includes jazz, blues, rock, and classical music genres.
She holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from Capital University and a Master of Arts in Percussion Pedagogy from The Ohio State University.
Linda’s LDB3 and Friends 2006 Chicken Coup Records release,”Blue Bop” has received very favorable local and national reviews and also charted for 6 weeks on jazzweek.com in the summer of 2006.
