This Thursday, August 5th, we will be treated to the grooving sounds of local B3 organist and keys player, Linda Dachtyl. The city of Columbus has a rich history of B3 players going back many years from Hank Marr to legends of today like Tony Monaco. Linda continues the tradition and brings her unique flavor and sound to the instrument this Thursday at the Rumba Cafe at 10pm. Linda will be featuring Larry Smith and Ben Thomas.
Linda holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from Capital University and a Master of Arts in Percussion Pedagogy from The Ohio State University. Linda’s second release on Chicken Coup Records, “For Hep Cats” was released nationally on January 8, 2008 and achieved a chart position of No. 45 on the jazzweek.com Top 100.
Thank you Linda for your contribution to jazz in Columbus
