When you go to a live jazz performance, usually the musicians will choose songs from their repertoire and the audience listens. But what if as an audience member, you could choose the songs the musicians perform? Well, that is what the McConnell Arts Center of Worthington is doing for an upcoming performance on Saturday, September 22nd, called “By Request @ The MAC”.

The performance will feature four of Columbus’s premier Jazz artists, where the first half of the concert will be tunes that the artists choose to share with you; the audience. Followed immediately by an extended intermission where the audience will mingle outside the performance hall and main gallery with the artists and request jazz standards to them they would like to hear. The second half of the performance will be a selection of those requests, resulting in a synergistic evening of monumentally jazzy enjoyment.

This unique concert will feature these four very talented local Columbus jazz musicians:

Dick Mackey – Vocals
Andy Woodson – Bass
Jim Rupp – Percussion
Tony Hagood – Keyboard

Date: Saturday September 22, 2012 7:30pm – 10pm
Location: Bronwynn Theatre
Price: $15 Adult, $12 Senior, $5 Students
