McConnell Arts Center Presents Thursday Night Concert Series with the Tony Hagood Jazz Ensemble

The McConnell Arts Center of Worthington Ohio is presenting a Thursday night jazz concert with pianist, Tony Hagood. The show starts at 7pm and runs until 9pm at the Bronwynn Theatre within the Arts Center. Suggested donation is $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Tony Hagood is a pianist and composer from Westerville, Ohio who has recently graduated Capital University with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies. While at Capital, he studied different types of music ranging from Igor Stravinsky to Chris Potter. Tony studied with local jazz pianist Mark Flugge and gained experience from playing with various other faculty, students, and musicians. Tony has participated in many musical settings including big band, musicals, different combo groupings, instrumental and vocal accompanist, cruise ship pianist, and playing in cover bands. Tony’s music is influenced by Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans, Dave Brubeck, Brad Mehldau and Ahmad Jamal.

Thursday night will feature Jason Bash, Zach Compston, and Tony playing standards, modern arrangements, and some original compositions. Full Details: http://www.mcconnellarts.org/wp/archives/1467
