Dennis Hodges has been an active musician in central Ohio since the early 2000s. He came to Columbus to study with Stan Smith at Capital University, completing his degree in 2005. While there, he was also able to study with Sid Jacobs (MI), Rick Peckham (Berklee), and Karl Wohlwend.
He has performed with the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra (Bernstein’s Mass, in 2004), the Columbus Jazz Orchestra, and, since 2005, in the pit for several touring musicals with the Broadway Across America series. In addition to these organizations, Dennis has played in several bands, including the Kristen Eubanks band, Dr. Awkward, and Anna & the Consequences, in and around Columbus at private and public events.
He has had the privilege of playing with Earl Klugh, “Blue” Lou Marini, Lew Soloff, Kate Baldwin, and Byron Stripling, as well as Ohio luminaries including Christian Howes, Dave Powers, and Bobby Floyd.
Dennis has been on faculties of Capital University and the Jazz Arts Group’s Jazz Academy, and has been an instructor with JamPlay.com since 2008.
He released an instrumental metal album “Intention,” under the name Erraticism, in 2013.
