Jazz, R&B, and Soul guitarist Jesse Asbell was born in Detroit Michigan but now lives in Columbus, Ohio. At age 16 he joined his first band called the Heatwaves Express. The Heatwaves Express was the first band to introduce Reggae music to the city of Detroit in the 1970’s. From 1970 -1973 sponsored by the Jamaican tourist board, Mr. Asbell in 2004 received the Honorary lifetime Achievement Award signed the first day of May 2004 under the distinguished patronage of the Governor of the State of Michigan and the Mayor of the city of Detroit. Jesse was awarded the Spirit of Detroit Award as well. Jesse has performed with:

– The late little Milton Campbell, the famous blues singer recording artist (1981-1982)
– Ron Banks the lead singer for the Dramatics
– The Thumpdaddy band from Columbus
