New Season of Live Jazz at Becky's "Bungalow Jazz" House

We’re excited to announce a brand new Summer season of live jazz at Becky Ogden’s Bungalow Jazz house. The Summer jazz season gets started this Thursday, June 13th with the Caribbean Jazz Quartet featuring Nate Anders on Vibes/Steel Pan/Percussion, Jeff Ciampa on bass, Jim Ed Cobbs on Piano and Percussion and Aaron Scott on drums. The Caribbean Jazz Quartet (CJQ) performs jazz and popular tunes with an island twist. From Bob Marley to The Beatles, Miles to Poncho Sanchez, this infectious band appeals to the young, old, and the young at heart.

The rest of the Summer continues to heat up with a number of performances from some of Columbus’ best jazz talent. The full schedule with performers is listed below. If you haven’t been to a Bungalow Jazz concert yet, you are truly missing one of the most intimate venues for enjoying live jazz in the city. And Becky is a wonderful host for any concert. Becky’s big old 1910 bungalow sits on an acre ravine lot on East Fifth Avenue (it’s a little hard to find: See the directions!) Deeply connected to Columbus‚ jazz community, Becky has long opened her house for friendly musical gatherings. Since closing her Columbus Music Hall, she still sees the need for venues where musicians and their audiences can mingles. Hence, Bungalow Jazz, the casual “house concert” venue.

The fabulous seven-foot Mason Hamlin piano sits in the living room, waiting for artists like Mark Flugge to bring out its warm and beautiful sound. After a post-jazz festival session, Wes “Warmdaddy” Anderson said, “I LOVE this room!”
