Columbus is not the only city in Central Ohio with a “Jazz and Ribs Festival”. Our neighbor to the Northeast hosts a Jazz and Ribs festival each year. The city of Newark Ohio is hosting its 16th annual festival on July 13th from 12pm to 8pm. Newark is just a 45 minute drive from downtown Columbus, making this festival an easy one to attend for Central Ohioans. The jazz festival is held downtown at Courthouse square.
This event is one that people look forward to each year just to have the chance to taste some of Central Ohio’s best ribs while enjoying a variety of great jazz music. Vendors spend the day cooking and selling the delicacy with hopes of being recognized and selected for the title of “Licking County’s Best Ribs”. Proceeds of the event go to the Licking County Humane Society to help with their operational expenses, and to provide a better environment for the animals they assist each year. Event hours: 12:00pm
