The OSU Jazz Lab Ensemble will be performing at Mirror Lake on OSU Campus this Thursday, May 13th starting at 7:30pm. The Jazz Lab Ensemble will be joined by special guest artist, Eric “the fish” Paton on congas and pandeiro. Also, debuting with the Jazz Lab Ensemble for this performance will be vocalist, Megan Ramhoff.
The music for this performance covers a wide range of styles from Brazilian Samba to slow and up tempo swing, from funky groove jazz to the Cuban Mambo and will include the following titles: “Take the A-Train”, “Sidewinder” , “Dindi”, “Goodbye Pork Pie Hat”, “Lush Life”, “How High the Moon”, and the cuban big band music of Mario Bauza “Carnegie Hall 100” plus several other selections. Pack a picnic basket or just sit in the beautiful amphitheater at Mirror Lake and enjoy the spring weather with live big band jazz.
