In his latest project, the Pat Metheny Unity Group, Metheny has assembled a group of multi-instrumental musicians that are as talented as they come — Antonio Sanchez, Chris Potter, Ben Williams, and Guilio Carmassi — to form a platform that can cover the entire spectrum of his 40-plus-year career.
Pat Metheny’s versatility is nearly without peer on any instrument. Over the years, he has performed with artists from Herbie Hancock to David Bowie in a body of work that includes compositions for solo guitar, small ensembles, electric and acoustic instruments, large orchestras, and ballet pieces in settings ranging from modern jazz to rock to classical.
