Everyone’s favorite New Orleans inspired funk and jazz band, The New Basics Brass Band, will present a PBJ Jazz concert this Saturday, July 23 at 11am as part of the 2011 Jazz & Ribs Fest. The event is free and we will unveil some tunes from the New Basics’ forthcoming album designed for kids and kids at heart. The band performs on the Jazz Cafe stage, located along the riverfront at the North Bank Park Pavilion.

The band has also announced the latest addition to the New Basics Family playing Baritone and other saxophones, Fred Gablick. Fred is a veteran of the Columbus music scene having played in a number of bands over the years and most recently the Silky Ray Band and the Free Beer ‘n Chicken Coalition. Welcome to the band Fred!
