One of the newer music venues in town is hosting a great jazz quartet this Thursday evening, October 4th with the Pete Mills Quartet. Pete is a Columbus resident and an active member of the Columbus jazz scene. Pete has helped host the Park Street Jazz Jam session for the past 8 years. A native of Toronto Canada, saxophonist and composer Pete Mills’ discography includes 3 solo releases with his most recent, Fresh Spin (Summit Records) featuring B3 organist Tony Monaco and New York based guitarist Pete McCann. As a sideman he appears on over a dozen CDs including those by guitarist Stan Smith, saxophonist Chad Eby, the eclectic ensemble Madrugada, the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, the Paul Ferguson Jazz Orchestra and the Columbus Jazz Orchestra. As a soloist, Mills works throughout the U.S and Canada, and in Columbus, he performs as a featured soloist with the Columbus Jazz Orchestra.
If you haven’t been to Natalie’s yet, the venue is an intimate space dedicated to creating a dynamic atmosphere for both artists and audiences alike. The space offers the combination of live music, old world New York style pizza made in a unique high temperature coal fired oven, classic cocktails made with freshly squeezed juices, wines, and the best local and regional craft brews.
