After a recent weekend of release shows in the further reaches of Central Ohio, locally based saxophonist Pete Mills is bringing the celebration of his new album Sweet Shadow to Columbus proper. On Thursday night, his quintet, featuring New York City-based musicians Matt Wilson (Grammy nominated drummer), Pete McCann (guitarist), and Martin Wind (bassist), along with Columbus-based pianist Erik Augis, will perform at Natalie’s Coal Fired Pizza and Live Music. While his Vancouver-based label Cellar Live has been forced to delay the official release of the album (according to The Dispatch), Mills will have copies for sale at the show, which starts at 9pm. Cover is $5.
