Phil Winnard, Trumpeter of The Famous Jazz Orchestra, Passes Away After Battle with Brain Tumor

Phillip Winnard passed away peacefully this past Sunday after a one year battle with a brain tumor. Phillip played jazz trumpet with Vaughn Wiester’s Famous Jazz Orchestra, The New Remnants Dance Orchestra, The Guy Lombardo Orchestra, The Stars of Lawrence Welk (Multiple Tours), The Benny Goodman Orchestra with the McQuire Sisters, The Temptations, and the Welsh Hills Symphony. He was a 1976 graduate of North H.S. and attended Capital University. Condolences to the family and friends of Phillip Winnard.

At Phil’s request, no services will be held. Contributions may be made in Phillip’s memory to Special Olympics Ohio, P.O. Box 668, Columbus, OH 43216-0668.
