The 2011 Nationwide Insurance Picnic with the Pops will run June 18 through July 30, and feature Chris Botti, The Spinners, and The Ohio State University Marching Band, among others. The 2011 Nationwide Insurance Popcorn Pops runs June 24 through July 22, and will feature three special family concerts recommended for children ages 3-12: American Salute, Beach Party, and Rock Around the World.
This Saturday features the Jazz Ambassadors. The Jazz Ambassadors is the United States Army’s premier touring jazz orchestra. This internationally acclaimed organization travels thousands of miles each year to present jazz, America’s national treasure, and carry a message of patriotism and goodwill to audiences worldwide.
The Jazz Ambassadors present a diverse program of big band swing, Latin music, contemporary jazz, popular tunes, standards, Dixieland, and patriotic selections. Maestro Marvin Hamlisch, during a joint concert with the National Symphony Orchestra, exclaimed, “I can’t think of better ambassadors for our country!”
