Rumba Cafe Brings Back Jazz on Wednesday Nights

At least for a few weeks, the Rumba Cafe brings live jazz back on Wednesday nights with Derek DiCenzo, Dave DeWitt on bass, and Maxwell Button on Drums. The performances start this Wednesday, January 5th and run throughout the month of January, every Wednesday night until January 19th. The Rumba Cafe regularly hosts a jazz night every Tuesday with local B3 legend, Tony Monaco and periodically hosts a number of jazz acts throughout the month.

Derek DiCenzo is a multi-instrumentalist who is as comfortable playing jazz on the acoustic bass as on the guitar or even the steel drum. He has been a full-time musician based in Columbus, Ohio for many years with his diverse influences and uncanny musical intuition has made him a much sought-after player.

Dave is one of the most “in demand” musicians in the Columbus music scene. As a bassist, he can be found as a member of a number of local groups, and is a gifted pianist in his own right. He brings great musical depth to each performance.

Maxwell Button is one of the most in demand drummers in Columbus, performing with many local jazz performers in a variety of settings.
