On Friday, October 21, 2011 at the beautiful Pythian Theater @ The King Arts Complex, Continuum Music Group and Stewart Sound Presents “Smooth Autumn Grooves” featuring smooth jazz guitarist superstar PETER WHITE , soul-jazz flutist ALTHEA RENE and one of the hottest contemporary jazz groups on the scene URBAN JAZZ COALITION.
Guitarist Peter White has kept the jazz charts sizzling with CD’s like “GLOW”, “CONFIDENTIAL”, and his current release “GOOD DAY”. Peter White is not only a fantastic guitarist and song writer but if you have never seen him in concert you are truly in for a treat.
Soul-jazz flutist Althea Rene hails from Detroit Michigan. She studied classical music while attending Howard University. Today, she is an in-demand, full-time recording/performing artist. Her latest release “No Restrictions” is marching up the charts. You will be amazed at the energy of her live performance.
Rounding out what will surely be an amazing night of contemporary jazz is Urban Jazz Coalition. UJC has moved and grooved audiences coast to coast. Their recent performance at The 3rd Annual Ultimate Jazz Festival in Ontario, California was stellar! The single from their current release “GRAVITATE” was in the top 25 on the independent smooth jazz charts for 2009/2010. Not only are they a top notch group on their own but they also back up some of the top artists in the genre to include Nick Colionne, Marion Meadows, Brian Simpson, Jeff Lorber, and Tom Braxton, just to name a few.
