Jazz guitarist and composer, Andrew Hartman, returns to Dick’s Den tonight March 31st, leading his modern jazz quintet, Still Motion. This is a “birthday show” as Hartman will be celebrating his (Andrew, how old are you now?). Joining Andrew will be Michael Cox on sax, Ryan Hamilton on trombone, Andy Woodson on bass, and drummer extraordinaire Matt Wagner. If you haven’t picked it up yet, Still Motion more recently debuted a new CD called “Andrew Hartman & Still Motion”, and should have plenty of copies available for tonight’s show. Still Motion is a modern jazz quintet that thrives on presenting a diverse repertoire within the bounds a unified group sound. Amongst a typical set, the listener can expect to hear original compositions flowing into the band’s arrangements of pop songs, as well as a few from their contemporaries in jazz. The band’s new release Andrew Hartman and Still Motion has been garnering accolades from jazz luminaries, radio programs and jazz fans of all ages.
