The Columbus Jazz Orchestra's 5th Season of Jazzoo

This summer, the Jazz Arts Group will take jazz to a wilder place as the Columbus Jazz Orchestra takes center stage at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium for JazZoo’s fifth season!

The four-concert series returns to the Water’s Edge Events Park at the Columbus Zoo providing a beautiful waterfront setting along the O’Shaughnessy Reservoir. Gates open at 6:30 PM with concerts beginning at 8 PM.

On July 16, relive the ’70s with the music that dominated radio airwaves in Chicago & the Sounds of the ‘70s featuring famed songwriter and vocalist Bruce Wermuth, with a special guest solo by the 2010 Hank Marr High School Jazz Award winner, Richard Emery. John Fredo makes a special return to Columbus on July 23 to pay tribute to “The Chairman of the Board,” in Sinatra & the Big Bands. August 6 brings the rich tenor voice and dynamic stage presence of Dwight Lenox in Satchmo & the Duke, a full evening of classic Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington. Closing out the series on August 13, Michael McElroy and Capathia Jenkins are back by popular demand to lend their powerful voices and celebrate the music of George and Ira Gershwin in Gershwin Under the Stars. The July 16 and August 6 events will also feature a special PBJ & Jazz concert beginning at 6:00 PM, sponsored by Bob Evans Farms.

Ticket prices (includes zoo admission and concert, parking is $5 per car for all but zoo members):

* Adult single: $27 (advance)/$30 (day of)
* Student single: $15 with ID
* Adult concert series: $89 per person
* Single concert corporate table of 8: $300 (does not include food)
* Concert series corporate table of 8: $1,000 (does not include food)
