On Thursday September 15th welcome the High Street Stompers Dixieland Band to the Worthington McConnell Arts Center. The High Street Stompers Dixieland Band was formed in 1987 when all the original members were Professors in the School of Music at The Ohio State University. Tom Battenberg, Paul Robinson, and Jim Curlis are the three remaining members of the original band. Sid Townsend joined the band in 2000, Vaughn Wiester in 2003, and Michael Cox became a permanent member in 2006. After the first recording sessions for this album took place in 2008, Jim Curlis developed elbow problems that limited his ability to play the drums. Jim Rupp has been filling in since and helped them finish their CD.
