Local Columbus jazz fusion group FLIPPO joined by vocalist Kay Harris brings the music of Joni Mitchell to Natalie’s this Thursday at 9pm. Following up on a near sold-out concert earlier this year, Kay and FLIPPO’s love and appreciation of her music come out in their dynamic and inspired versions of Joni’s songs.
Vocalist Kay Harris has been an integral part of the Central Ohio music scene for a number of years. As a vocalist and songwriter for most of her life, she has been involved with numerous album and demo projects. Kay also has provided lead and backup vocals for over seventy local and national jingles including McDonalds, Wendy’s, Krogers, Stanley Steamer, Huntington National Bank, Schottensteins, Safe Auto, Krieger Ford, Sun TV and Grant/Riverside Hospitals. She has also performed with Mills-James Productions at conventions throughout the U.S. including Hawaii and Puerto Rico. As one of Columbus’ most versatile vocalists, she has also performed steadily over the years with many different musical projects including Diva, Full Tilt Boogie, the Columbus Jazz Arts Group, and Zero One.
Flippo is: Michael Cox on saxophone, Erik Augis on keys, Paul Brown on guitar, Andy Woodson on bass and Louis Tsamous on drums. Check out FLIPPO’s Facebook page for video, audio, and more information about the band.
