The Bungalow jazz house is hosting a special show this Sunday entitled “Two for the Blues”, a celebration of the music of Dave Lambert, Jon Hendricks, and Annie Ross. This group was wildly popular in jazz around the 1950s. They forged a new path for jazz singers in the Bebop style by writing witty and often comedic lyrics to some of Bebop’s most popular tunes and instrumental solos. Revisit LH&R arrangements of signature tunes like In A Mellow Tone, Doodlin’, Two for the Blues, Moanin’, and Twisted.
The show features two extremely talented vocalists from the Columbus area, Rachel Sepulveda and Lisa Clark-Augis, along with Mark Flugge, Derek DiCenzo, and Reggie Jackson on drums. Dig the jazz vocals of Rachel and Lisa as they blow your blues away singing classic tunes from the songbook of legendary vocalese pioneers, Lambert, Hendricks, and Ross.
