The Smuggler’s Loung Jazz Lounge is part of the Big Dog Motorcycles store in Columbus about a mile from downtown. With music 5 nights a week, Tuesday – Thursday approx. 7 to 11:30 p.m (sometimes they stay open later) and Friday – Saturday, 6-9pm matinée and 9-12pm late set. The club is fairly new having been open only a few months as of January 2008. There is never a cover charge and they do offer free Valet on Wednesday’s, Friday’s and Saturday’s. (their busiest nights).
The Jazz Lounge is located in the front of an old building that also houses their motorcycle shop. The ambiance is perfect for jazz, with low lit oil lamps on high top and coffee tables, and a selection of comfortable sofas to relax and take in some music. The Smugglers Lounge is great for folks that want to carry on a conversation enjoying a martini, glass of wine, or a cocktail in a relaxing setting.
Currently, a few jazz acts are playing there on regular rotation including the Tom Davis Trio, Top Cats, and Small Change.
