Wednesday Jazz Grooves – Bobby Floyd Trio & fo/mo/deep

This Wednesday August 24th, we have a few special mid-week jazz appearances from the Bobby Floyd Trio at Bungalow Jazz, and Columbus jazz-funk group fo/mo/deep at Easton “Sounds on the Town” concert series. As many know, Bobby plays weekly at the Lobby with his trio every Saturday afternoon with Derek DiCenzo and Reggie Jackson. Join his trio this Wednesday night in the cozy jazz confines of Becky Ogden’s Jazz Bungalow. Becky’s big old 1910 bungalow sits on an acre ravine lot on East Fifth Avenue. Deeply connected to Columbus’s jazz community, Becky has long opened her house for friendly musical gatherings. Since closing her Columbus Music Hall, she still sees the need for venues where musicians and their audiences can mingles. Hence, Bungalow Jazz, the casual “house concert” venue.

Hitting the stage a bit earlier at Easton is Columbus jazz/funk arrangement fo/mo/deep. Best known for their sizzling live performances, the fo/mo/deep groove is rooted in the experimental school of the 70s…a time when jazz, soul and funk were one and the same. Exciting audiences and making new fans where ever they perform – fo/mo/deep, cooks up a tasty and interesting fusion of flavors including but not limited to: Jazz, Neo-Soul, Funk, Afro-Beat & World Grooves.

fo/mo/deep will be performing as part of the Easton Town Center “Sounds on the Town” concert series. Easton’s exclusive concert series features a mix of local, regional, and national performances presented by the Easton Community Foundation. Enjoy a mix of jazz, funk, blues and Latin artists in this outdoor setting all summer long and with all shows free to the community.
